Feel Good Friday - Therapy Map Friday 1st February 2013 is Feel Good Friday, and WebHealer is proud to support this Samaritans fundraising day with our Feel Good Friday Therapy Map. It's all about feeling good, and Samaritans is encouraging everyone to brighten their day a little, to have some fun and to help raise funds to allow them to continue their vital life-saving service. Why Feel Good Friday? Every year, Samaritans' 18,750 volunteers support 5 million calls from people across the UK who are struggling to cope. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide hope and comfort. By supporting Feel Good Friday, you'll help Samaritans continue to provide their life-saving service for the millions of cries for help they receive each year. £3.88 pays for one call to be answered by a volunteer; £100 allows the charity to recruit 5 new volunteers; £1,000 keeps Samaritans' service running for 12 hours Feel Good Friday was first organised by Samaritans in 2012 as a lighthearted way of raising these important funds. WebHealer supported the event in 2012, and we aim to raise even more money in 2013.
How WebHealer is helping WebHealer run websites for thousands of therapists throughout the UK, and many of these will be supporting Feel Good Friday in 2013, by donating a proportion of their fees on February 1st to Samaritans. How you can help Why not give yourself the gift of a reflexology or aromatherapy treatment (to name just two of the many therapies available), and choose one of our participating therapists for an appointment on February 1st 2013. Therapists - Why should you take part? WebHealer is encouraging all our therapists to participate in this special event. Not only will you be helping Samaritans with their very important work, but you'll be able to raise your own profile in your local community. Raise awareness of your therapy practice in your community An opportunity to demonstrate your principles and integrity as a therapist When we supported Feel Good Friday 2012 over 100 therapists took part, and we had some great feedback about how successful it had been. Frequently Asked Questions How much will be paid to Samaritans? WebHealer have encouraged everyone listed on the map to donate £3 from every treatment on February 3rd to Samaritans, but some people will donate different amounts. Please see their websites for details. I'm a therapist. How do I get on the map? Currently only WebHealer clients can get a listing on the map. We are working on ways to extend this to other therapists. How do I find out more about Feel Good Friday? Just visit this link Feel Good Friday If I'm busy on Friday 1st February, am I unable to support this event? Some therapists choose to support Feel Good Friday throughout the week ending Friday 1st. If not, you could always contact them and say you can't make Friday but would another day still qualify.
Other Charitable Activities WebHealer are proud to be supporting Samaritans in 2013, and it is our hope that this event will go from strength to strength. We are also looking at extending the concept to support other charities. Over the years, an increasing element of our business goals has been to make a contribution to society. For example, between December 2008 and January 2010 our charity VAT appeal raised over £7,500 for Macmillan Cancer Care, BBC Children in Need and Merlin Disaster Relief.
